Classes are taught by instructors of the Illinois Shotokan Karate Club under the direction of John DiPasquale, four-time National Champion, U.S. Karate National Coach, and National Champion, U.S. Karate National Coach, and National Faculty Member of ACEP (American Coaching Effectiveness Program). Karate programs offered include:

  • Pre-Karate (4-7 Years)
  • Youth Karate (8-14 Years)
  • Adult Karate (15 Years & Older)
  • Parent/Child Karate (Children 7 & Up)

Tae Kwon Do

Tae Kwon Do, an Olympic sport, is a two thousand year-old martial art, offering a variety of benefits for people of all ages and physical abilities. Students will improve their concentration and self-esteem, achieve lifelong physical fitness, and learn self-defense skills. Classes are taught under the direction of Grand MASTER Ki Hong Kim (9th Dan Kukkiwon World Tae Kwon Do Headquarters). Tae Kwon Do programs offered include:

  • Little Dragons (Ages 4-5)
  • Early Tae Kwon Do (Ages 6-7)
  • Youth Tae Kwon Do (Ages 8-13)
  • Parent/Child Tae Kwon Do (Ages 7 & Up)
  • Adult Tae Kwon Do (High School Age & Up)


All Aikido classes are taught by Deb Pastors, 4th degree black belt with over 20 years experience. Aikido programs offered include:

  • Beginning Aikido (Ages 13 & Up)
  • Continuing Aikido (Ages 13 & Up)
  • Adult Advanced Aikido (Ages 15 & Up)
  • Aikido for Kids (Ages 8-14)
