Ice Bears Youth Hockey League

Paul Hruby Ice Arena will be opening soon!

Hockey classes will begin on July 6, but select programs will begin on June 22.

The Summer Program guide will be available on June 12. Resident registration begins at 8:30am on Saturday, June 20. Non-resident registration begins at 8:30am on Saturday, June 27.

Be on the lookout for your favorite hockey class starting back up, or even try one of our new offerings!

Oak Park Ice Bears Hockey

This program is designed for players with experience in the sport who are ready to take their game to the next level. This league competes against other organizatons as part of the Northwest Hockey League. Players are divided by birth year and evaluated based on skill to produce equal teams at each level where players receive balanced ice time. Each team averages two practices and one game a week.

Mandatory Program Pre-Requisites 

Mite and Squirt
New Mite (U-8) and Squirt players must have minimally passed Jr. Bears 3, participated in 4 full sessions of Polar Bear Hockey League, and have a Hockey Academy coaches recommendation PREVIOUS to registering. Players who have not met these requirements will not be able to register. Players who do not meet these requirements may schedule an evaulation.
 
Peewee and Up
Contact the Aquatic & Rink Manager to set up and evaluation. New players will not be taken into peewee, bantam or midget without an evaluation.

Fall 2020 Age Groups

Mite/8U - 2012/2013

Squirt/10U - 2010/2011

Peewee/12U - 2008/2009

Bantam/14U - 2006/2007

Midget/18U -2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 - Oak Park Ice Bears hope to commit (1) Midget team for the Spring 2020 season.

 The Northwest Hockey League was formed to provide safe recreationally competitive youth hockey at all age levels.The league focuses on sportsmanship, fair play, and player development.

 

The Park District of Oak Park also offers in-house youth hockey and adult hockey.
