Meet the Gymnastics Staff

Jamie Lapke, Gymnastics Managercoach_jamie
Jamie began gymnastics at the age of 4, eventually becoming a top performer for the Chicago Park District’s Avondale Park Level 5 competitive team. Subsequently, Jamie competed in the USAG program through Level 9 and retired after competing at Level 9 Regional Championships. She graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with a degree in secondary physical education and began working at Chicago Park District’s Merrimac Park, where a large part of her work involved teaching tumbling and gymnastics, and she developed a top ranking competitive team for the park. Jamie joined the gymnastics staff of the Park District of Oak Park in 1994 and became Program Director in 2004. Jamie is USAG Safety Certified, is a USAG Professional member, and is instructor certified and a KAT (preschool) instructor.

keithKeith Kerrigan, CPRP, Gymnastics Program & Operations Supervisor
Keith will take on a new position as Program & Operations Supervisor.  His responsibility will include overseeing the daily operation of the GRC, planning for programs and coaching all levels of the boys USAG Team.  He comes to us from the Chicago Park District where he has worked for the past 9 ½ years.  He started out as a Gymnastics Instructor and has been a Gymnastics Supervisor since 2009.  As a supervisor he oversaw 6 gymnastics center programs, staff and special events.  He is looking forward to working for the Park District of Oak Park at the GRC because of his passion for teaching children. His goals include developing relationships with families, developing staff and successful gymnastics programs and building a rapport with the community.

BBernadetteernadette Panik, Full-Time Coach
Bernadette began coaching gymnastics in 2009 and joined Oak Park Gymnastics Center in 2011. She coached multiple competitive levels and classes throughout the years including Tots, preschool, boys and girls recreational and girls compulsory, optional and XCEL team levels. She also coach at Elmhurst Park District. Bernadette began gymnastics at the age of three and spent several years participating in both recreational and competitive team gymnastics. Her favorite event is the balance beam. Bernadette holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education from Elmhurst College as well as Illinois Type 10 Teaching License. She is a USAG Professional Member and is Safety Certified and Safe Sport Certified. In her spare time Bernadette likes to bake, going for walks and bike riding in the summer. Her favorite food is chips and Guacamole and her favorite color is purple.

CarsonCarson Von Feldt, Part-Time Coach
Carson started coaching at the gymnastics center January of 2017. He was a gymnast for 8 years. Carson’s first love is dance. He grew up dancing at Bruce Lea Dance Factory and is currently a professional dancer with the Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre. Carson stared teaching tumbling as an assistant coach for 2-3 years. Carson graduated from Mo-Lindenwood University with a BFA Dance degree in May of 2016. He is also is certified in First Aid, CPR/AED. Carson enjoys reading, hiking, movies and loves the cold weather.

Raye2Ripley Inksetter, Part-Time Coach
Ripley's gymnastics career as a gymnast was with the Park District of Oak Park.  Ripley was a gymnast for 8 years and part of the GIJO team. Ripley is a graduate of OPRF HS and is currently attending Triton College. Ripley is a USAG instructor member and is certified in First Aid and CPR/AED. Ripley's favorite class to teach at the GRC is Tumbling and Trampoline.

krisna2Krisna Morale-Chew, Part-Time Coach
Krisna started coaching at the gymnastics center March of 2018. Her coaching career started as a teen assistant at Spring Hill Gymnastics in Elgin in 2011 as a preschool and recreational school age coach. In 2016 she started working at All-Around Gymnastics in Bensenville. Her primary coaching responsibilities there included coaching recreational classes as well as team. The summer of 2017 Krisna started working at the Shedd Aquarium as a Guest Experience Ambassador and just started hosting the Aquatic Presentation before the aquarium shut down due to Covid-19 in March of 2020.Krisna started gymnastics at 8 months old until 19 years of age. She was a competitive gymnast through level 8. She is a High School graduate from York Community High School and is now pursuing and education degree. She is certified in First Aid, CPR/AED and is fluent is Spanish. Krisna enjoys reading comics, playing with her cats, restoring vintage items and exploring new restaurants and café’s.

UBUB Rodriguez, Part-Time Coach
UB started working for the gymnastics center April of 2019.  His previous work experience includes coaching at All-Around Gymnastics in Bensenville for 7 years prior to coming to Oak Park.  His responsibilities included coaching girls USAG Compulsory/optional and Xcel gymnasts at practices and at competitions. He was also in charge of “Parents Night Out” special events and birthday parties. As a gymnast himself he fell in love with the sport in high school and found it amazing to be able to get the opportunity to compete and make it to state. His only regret is not knowing about the sport earlier in life.  UB is a High School graduate from West Leyden and is pursuing a Psychology degree at UIC.  UB is USAG Safety Certified, Safe Sport Certified, Mandated Reporter Certified and is up to date with his First Aid and CPR/AED Certification. He is fluent in Spanish and his other interests include staying fit, reading and cooking.

Coach_LiZhongLiZhong Dubreuil, Part-Time Coach
LiZhong started working for the gymnastics center November of 2019.  She has done gymnastics for most of her life and was a competitive gymnast for 7 years with Oak Park Gymnastics prior to becoming a coach. LiZhong is part of the gymnastics team at OPRF. She was awarded MVP on the OPRF cheer team as well as having the most team spirit the first year she was on the OPRF gymnastics team.  LiZhong also qualified multiple times to state competitions while on the cheer team. She is certified in First Aid, CPR/AED and A.L.I.C.E. trained. In her spare time LiZhong like to bake, dance, shop, paint with water colors and spend time with her family and friends.

CassieCassie Dumelle, Part-Time Coach
Cassie started working for the gymnastic center November 2019. She started gymnastics in the parent and child tots class at the age of 2. She stayed with the sport until 2017 when she retired as a level 6 competitive gymnast on the USAG JO team. Cassie is currently a High Schoolstudent at OPRF. She is certified in First Aid and CPR/AED. In her spare time Cassie likes to play softball, exercise, shop, watch movies and spending time with family and friends.

JadeJade Ramsey, Part-Time Coach
Jade started working for the gymnastics center February 2021. Her previous work experience includes seating people as a hostess at the Wishbone Restaurant in downtown Chicago and working as a counselor at the Shady Oaks Recreational Camps for the Disabled before joining the Oak Park Gymnastics staff. She also volunteered as a dance/gymnastics coach locally in the area.   Jade was a  gymnasts for 13+ years at Tri-Star gymnastics in Forest Park and finished her competitive career as a level 6/7. After her competitive career, Jade became a competitive dancer and is on the varsity drill team. She is currently a senior at OPRFHS.

mattia2Mattia Zefran, Part-Time Coach
Mattia started working for the gymnastics center February 2021. His previous work experience includes reefing local children’s AYSO soccer games. Mattia started his gymnastics career at the old gymnastics center building on Madison street at the age of 5 and joined the level 4 competitive team when he was  6. Mattia is still a competitive gymnast at the gymnastics center competing as a level 10. He is currently a junior at OPRFHS. In his spare time he enjoys playing soccer.

AvaAva Watters, Part-Time Coach
Ava started working for the gymnastics center February 2021. Her previous work experience includes babysitting, volunteering and reefing local children’s soccer games. She has been a competitive gymnast since she was little and is now on the High School team.  She is currently a High School junior on the honor roll. Beside doing gymnastics, Ava loves to paint.
