August 6, 2012 – (Oak Park, Ill.) The newly redesigned website of the Park District of Oak Park has gone live and can be found online at

“Visitors to our website will notice right away a very big difference, from navigation to color scheme and more,” said Jan Arnold, Executive Director. “The new website was designed with our residents in mind, focusing on creating a user-friendly, fun and intuitive experience.”

The new website features a completely overhauled navigational structure, and provides visitors with easy access to a wide variety of Park District resources. Visitors can report park maintenance issues, get up-to-the-minute status information on facility and park/field closings, and utilize an integrated programs and events calendar. A new site-wide search offers visitors the option of finding exactly what they are looking for in moments, and an indexed document and FAQ library provides a wealth of information at their fingertips.

“Users should be sure to check out the new 'I Want To' fly-out menu that highlights the many programs, facilities and services we offer,” noted Bobbi Nance, Project Manager at the Park District of Oak Park. “The whole design is the product of input and staff hours from all Park District departments, and we’re very pleased with the end result.”

The website features a number of photographs of local residents enjoying parks and programs in Oak Park, many of which were shot by local photographers J.Geil and David T. Kindler and featured in the Park District’s 100th Anniversary commemoration photo book, entitled “People, Parks & Play: The Spirit of Recreation in Oak Park.” Copies of the book are available for purchase at the Book Table on Lake Street, with proceeds benefiting the Park District’s Scholarship program.
