Received the GFOA award 2020 Audit Report

New Proof Of Vaccination Order

Dear Patrons, As of Wednesday, January 12, 2022, the Oak Park Public Health Department issued two amendments to its Proof of Vaccination in Public Places order. The Park District of Oak Park was awarded the 2021 Platinum International Aquatic Safety Award from Jeff Ellis & Associates, Inc.

This award recognizes aquatic facilities that are consistently exceeding their criteria for aquatic safety certification. International Safety Awards are presented in three levels – Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Only the elite, top 14% of Ellis and Associate clients in the world receive a Platinum International Aquatic Safety Award each year.

Face Coverings Required Indoors

Per the order issued by the Oak Park Health Department, effective Friday, August 6, 2021, the Park District of Oak Park will require all individuals (patrons and staff), regardless of their vaccination status, to wear a face covering in all indoor public settings. The health department also recommends that "individuals wear a mask outdoors if they are not able to practice social distancing by maintaining at least a six (6) foot distance from other individuals not from the same household."

The State of Illinois has issued guidance for Phase 5 which allows for near-normal operations.


5.14.21: State of Illinois Moves to Bridge Phase

Governor Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Public Health have announced that effective immediately, the State has moved to the Bridge Phase. While the CDC has announced recommendations regarding face-coverings, the State has not changed its guidance and thus face-coverings remain required for both indoor and outdoor activities.

New Proof Of Vaccination Order

Masking is no longer required indoors; it remains optional for individuals who feel comfortable in doing so. It is likely many individuals will continue to wear face coverings for a variety of reasons, including comfort, vaccination status, and personal or family health status. Park District staff will respect and accept all individual preferences with regard to face coverings.


Order of Vaccination Proof and Masks Lifted

Effective Monday, February 28, Park District of Oak Park will no longer require proof of vaccination or masks to participate in our programs or enter our facilities. This includes all individuals, regardless of age, who participate in programs, events, or activities as well as visitors and spectators. On Friday, February 25, the Oak Park Department of Public Health issued a new Public Health Order rescinding the order dated December 31, 2021 requiring proof of vaccination and face coverings in
