The Park District of Oak Park offers both unique and traditional visual, performing and culinary art programs, including the followng:

Arts & Crafts Programming at Dole Center!

The Park District of Oak Park offers unique and traditional classes in one-day and multiple session form. Most of our classes are designed to fit ages 7 and up to give families the opportunity to play together as well as encourage intergenerational engagement which aims to connect generations through the creative process in a fun and welcoming environment. Dole Center has several studios specifically designed for the arts including a dance, ceramics, painting/drawing, weaving, and lapidary studio as well as a technology space with computers and machines for computer based design and printing. Some of our offerings include:

Summer Creative Arts Workshops 

Summer Creative Arts Workshops (known as SCAW) is one of our most popular camps. Over 100 young artists partake in the arts focused camp taught by our year round art instructors or artist in study each summer. Students may pick from a variety of art and technology workshops. Classes include cooking, ceramics, 3d art, drawing, painting, art history, music, creative movement, printmaking, coding, building, photography and much more. These camps vary year to year so participants can experience new classes each summer.

Cooking Classescooking

Explore the culinary arts with the Park District of Oak Park! We offer a variety of cooking classes for Youth and Adults at Cheney Mansion and Fox Center. Find youth classes through the registration Arts & Crafts tile and adult classes through the registration Conservatory/Cheney Mansion/Pleasant Home tile.
