New Murals for Barrie Park

Mural of a Couple on a Bench

Two new murals were recently created and installed on the back of the Barrie Park sled hill by participants in the Oak Park Area Arts Council Off the Wall Program. This intensive summer teen arts employment program allows apprentices to work with profession artists to produce a public art mural while learning job skills. The new bricolage murals, depicting a couple sitting on a park bench and a baby stroller being pushed through a park, complement the series of six sports –related murals that were installed by the Off the Wall Program in 2011. The Park District of Oak Park invites you to visit Barrie Park, located at 127 Garfield Street at Lombard Avenue, and view these amazing pieces of art created by Oak Park’s very own promising artists.
