Description

Field Park, located in northwest Oak Park, is a popular place for family gatherings with its lovely picnic shelter and multipurpose room available for rent for parties and events. Field Park’s playground and tot lot is popular with the little ones with its lively and popular splash pad keeping kids cool on a hot day. Field Park is the only park to offer a Bocce Court (bring your own equipment). See park map.

History

Acquired in 1916, the park is named after children’s author Eugene Field and includes a center originally designed by John Van Bergen. The center has been significantly modified over the years. Woodbine Avenue between Berkshire and Division was vacated by the Village in 1960 to expand the park and connect it to the Mann School grounds, creating roughly five acres of total open space.
