The 40th Annniversary 2016 FLW Races will be held October 23. Registration is going on now!

FLW_logo_2016Bring your racing and running season to a close in historic Oak Park with the flat, fast, and scenic route of the 2016 Frank Lloyd Wright Races, featuring a 5K Run/Walk, the 10K Run, and the Youth Mile for ages 7-14. All events are on Sunday, October 23 and start just east of Oak Park River Forest High School (201 N. Scoville Avenue in Oak Park) at Scoville and Ontario Streets, and finish on Scoville in front of the school. The course for the 10K passes by eight Frank Lloyd Wright buildings, including the Home and Studio!

Save $10 when you register by September 1st. Participants will receive a long-sleeved t-shirt (shirt size guaranteed if registered by September 30th), entry into the oatmeal bar, and refreshments in the finish line area.

Early bird registration is over. Registration fees starting 9/1:

5K Run or 10K Run - $45
5K Walk - $40
Youth Mile - $30  

*CARA members will receive a 10% discount on race entry with valid CARA number. Use the listed CARA sections.



ONLINE at Deadline is 11:59pm on Friday, October 21.

  • WALK-IN at the Ridgeland  Common Recreation Complex (415 Lake Street, Oak Park) or the Gymnastics and Recreation Center (21 Lake Street, Oak Park). Deadline is 7pm on Friday, October 16.
  • Mail-in and fax your registration form by Sept 23. Download the registration form.

NOTE: Once the race is full, registration will close. If the race does not fill early, registration will close on Saturday, October 22 at 1pm. No registration will be taken after the Saturday deadline or on Sunday, October 23. Registration for this activity is non-refundable.

Ridgeland Common Recreation Complex, 415 Lake Street, Oak Park

  • Thursday, October 20 from 8:30am-7:00pm
  • Friday, October 21 from 8:30am-7:00pm
  • Saturday, October 22 from 10:00am-1:00pm

Oak Park and River Forest High School Field House, 201 N. Scoville, Oak Park

  • Sunday, October 23 starting at 6:00am


5K Walk/Run starts at 8AM

10K Run starts at 8:45 AM

Youth Mile starts at 9 AM


The 40th Annual Frank Lloyd Wright Races are using the B-Tag timing system, a disposable tag that stays mounted on the runner's bib. The race bib and B-Tag will be distributed at packet pick-up. The 5K Walk is not timed, so no B-Tags will be issued to walkers.

CARA Runners' Choice Circuit Race

This race has applied for and received the Chicago Area Runners Association designation as a 2016 CARA Certified Race. This race has agreed to adhere to and uphold CARA’s Best Practices Guidelines. These Guidelines embody the highest standards for quality, safety and comfort for participants in a road race. CARA members will receive a 10% discount on race entry with valid CARA number. Train to Run Program

Are you planning to run the 10K, 5K or Youth Mile with us this year? We’re offering a training program to get you across the finish line faster with a 6-week (Youth Mile) or 8-week session (10K/5K) Instructed by Running Coach and Personal Trainer, Jay Fossier. Beginning Sept 1, join us for 1 training session per week that will focus on building strength and endurance, in addition to a weekend group run on Saturdays. Register here! Activity code: 325900



Awards are given for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place (male & female) for 5K and10K overall, 5K and 10K age divisions, and Youth Mile age divisions. Award ceremonies are staggered, with 5K awards first, Youth Mile awards second, and 10K awards last.
